They say high salt consumption has suggested linksto osteoporosis, worsening asthma, lead to high blood pressure, stomach cancer...
Recommended salt in take per day as;
Adult - 6g per day.
11 to 14 years -6 g
7 to 10 years -5 g
4 to 6 years- 3g
1 to 3 years-2g
7 to 12 months- 1g
0 to 6 months- less than 1 g
They emphasized that ' What we need is clear food labelling'
but, some brands label their salt content in sodium term.
And some brands of muffin, cereals have more salt than two sandard bags of crips..
They concluded as ; The big challenge is to persuade children to eat a healthy diet built around fruit and vegetables, in which case salt become irrelevant.
It's a very difficultjob for ordinary parents including me todoon every single day
