FinallyI was able to finish this book last night. I was surprised by itsunexpected ending. It was completely different from the movie. I watched it back in 2009. The one who diedin the novel was Anna, not Kate. My husband teased me while Isobbedwhen I wasreading the last part.I've really enjoyed the various personalities in this book.Readingtheir honest and heartbreaking expressions gave mejoy.I'd like to say thanks to my two English teachers: Jennifer, becauseshe did notspoilthe different ending even though she both watched the movie and read the book before and she helped meunderstand many new expressions related towestern culture. Ryanis the one who introduced this book to me.I was able to deeplythink about the"dysfunctional family" from beginning to end. It made me reflect on my currentfamily problems:Jessie's repeated misbehavior gave me a chance tosee my elder son from a different point of view. Sara and Brian's attitudewas an expected portrait of ordinary parents.Theirmistakescould alsobe ours. Although thetoo dramatic ending reduces the reality, I think, it is a good novel. One of the bad things is thatIfelt the writer'snegative emotions toward all doctors. Many oncologistswere described ascold-blooded ones. Theyweretoobusyto hear theirpatient's complaints. On thecontrary, all nursesseemed likewarm-hearted people by Sara's narration. It might be due tothe writer’s prejudice from her own personal experiences.Anyway, I am very happy to have read it through.

I still remember Sara's saying, "We never have children. We receive them. And sometimes it's not quite long as we have expected or hoped. But it is still far better than never having had those children at all."

It has been one week since I moved into this new apartment.Even thoughlots ofstuff is stillmessed up here and there, ithas beengetting betterand thins are settling down day by day. Wefinally fixed an air-conditioner in my elder son's room today. He will be coming back home in 10 days. I am really missing him now.
