room to read
Aftera two-week hecticschedule had passed, Iwas able to visit thelibraryhospital at last. It waswithin an easy walking distance of the main hospital building. Their capacity and collections weresmaller than the previous hospital (Just thinking of the capacity of it, it might be the best in Korea, I think). At first, I didn't know which book I should pick. My sensibilityin book was so low because of the one year fellowship period. The librarian was avery kind woman.I wanted to know thenew trends and waves, so, I asked her to recommend some books for me. I've borrowed four booksso far. And I've finished three of them andthey were all in the range ofmy tastes. She was right. Two books were very impressive. Onewas a Korean novel written by a young promisingfemale writer. And the otherwas 'Leaving Microsoft to change the world' by John Wood. I've already heard about the title of the book froma medical association's magazine.
Before starting with it, I thought that itmight bestrict and a plain book. However, my prejudice was completely wrong. It was great. The writer was passionate and it contained his philosophies. Even though it was translated into Korean, I could feelhis thoughts andcould even imagine the original scripts.
I visited the official homepage ofthe organization, 'room to read' and bookmarked it. It made me recall the donkey library inEthiopia whichhad beenissuing in 2008.
