English Journal

`November`

I wrote this journal last November.

While I arranged several notes on my desk, I happened to seemy English diaryfromthis time last year:I had describedNovembermight bethe bluest month of the year andthere were severalgrammar correctionsby my former teacher.I wrote about my feelings regarding my younger brother's transferto Kuwait for three years andI expressed my worriesabout the H1N1 epidemic, which affected the wholeKorean peninsulalast year. Some of my co-workerswereconfirmed to have contractedit. While continue to scan through it, I recalled twoEnglish teachers. Theylend mea handwhile I was preparing for an oral presentation in Chicago last November.by just thinking of them, I was able to smile for a while. Anyway,I still have a similaropinion aboutthis month: it isthe most vulnerable seasontoinfectious disease such asthe flu and bad cold, etc.; Jennifer isan example of this.A lot of ordinarypeople may feel regret regarding their low performancein respect totheir New year's resolutions. Many contractualworkers deeply thinkabout theiremploymentandpossibilities of transfer. This Novembermakes me feel slightly different: I am no longer a member ofa tough fellowship and my younger brother informed me todayof his official visitintwo weeks. Hehas beenworking asthe 1st secretary at the KoreanEmbassy in Kuwait since last December. Additinally,I'm planning onmoving this January. Hence,November might not be the bluest month for me anymore.

Last Saturday was my husband's birthday. I remember the "Jealous Scorpio" thatJin told me aboutinour class.I am not azodiac believer.Whenhe told me the “Cancer” seemed to fitin with my character more, I smiled silently.Thinking of myself,I am a bit far from the typical homely and kind woman. Iamratherclose to the opposite. It is just masked by my hobbies such as midnight baking and reading.I never thought of myself as “Motherly"ashe thought.Anyways, hiscommentsregarding the Scorpio seem to be partly true.On December it will be 17 years since we got married.

Thanks Jennifer!
