Letters

Do you remember when I saidthat April is so cruel? It is true: the past two weekswere the hardest and busiestperiod for me inthe pastyear of my life.I am happy that I gotthrough many toughsituations without facing big problems andI reallyappreciatethe help of my co-workers. I don'tthink thatthese kinds of things are finished over;I have topracticethemevery week as a part ofmy job.Throughconsecutive team work, I was able to train my co-worker and we were able to strengthen ourteamwork. Now, I feel that I'veadjusted to my new job and atmosphere, though my family responsibilities, especiallyin regards tomy eldest son, still weighs heavily on my shoulders every day.

Ifound timeto review several letters last night. Although most of them reached my handsat some pointduring thepast two weeks, I was not able to read thembecause of my hectic schedule and busy mind. One wasan acceptancee-mail for my abstract- which I submittedlast March with help of my loving Jen-unless something unexpected happens,I will have a chance to visit Vienna this August for that presentation.

The others were from three different guys: S,the Australianboyfriend of mypersonal trainer, R, my previous teacher, and an old seniorfrom my school days. All theletters made me feel good. S's email was really formal and sincere: he said that he would like to meet my family members duringhis next visit to Korea. R's letter made me feel relieved, because I was not able to hear recent news from him and I was worried about him. Theletter from my old senior (actually he sent me two consecutive e-mails) made methink deeply about my current job and my responsibilities towards myfamily. He always seesthe mainpoints. When I was a medical student, I admired him so much.He seems like a steady tree that I couldalways lean on.

The one week of cruel April remainsand beautiful May is waiting for me just around the corner.
