the difference

One of my best friends dropped by two weeks ago to give me encouragement. We talked to each other over lunch. The main topic was about our respective children and jobs. When I told her aboutmy elder son's impulsiveness and unexpectedness, she asked me why I described him as an unusal son. She said, In her view, he is a usual teenager boy not a trouble maker. She accentuated that I should accept the difference was not wrong. I have heard this kind of advice before from my counsellor. She recommended me a particular book, ‘Parent Effectiveness Training' so I bought it 2 weeks ago. Of course, I had not finished it yet, however, the tone of the book was similar to the other ones that I've already read before. The thing seems to be not knowing further advanced knowledge but accepting basics and then applying them into my real life. Last weekend, I got a phone call from my medical school alumnus, she is the pediatric psychiatrist who introduced current my counsellor to me at first. She also emphasized not to forget the role of mom and consoled me as saying that even in tough environment, time would fly.
